Tracy Williams’ paintings explore perceptions of movement, form, texture and color. These explorations are grounded in observations of the natural world, and subsequently allowed to push to the edge of abstraction and beyond.
Her recent work merges the qualities of timelessness and minimalism. Layers of antique textures lie beneath a gestural, stroked and poured surface to create work that looks both modern and enduring. The carefully orchestrated under layer of overlapping geometric panels gives a substantive platform to the broad brushwork and floating pigments on the surface.
